Meghalaya Education Department, Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), has released the official notification of Meghalaya MTET 2023 or Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test . As per the official notification, the MTET exam is scheduled to be held on December 1st 2023.

Eligibility Criteria of MTET Exam 2023
Nationality:
Candidates must be citizens of India and also a permanent resident of Meghalaya.
Age Limit:
There shall be no age limit for candidates applying and appearing for MTET.
Educational Qualification
Paper I (Lower Primary)
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms & Procedure), Regulations, 2002
OR
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
OR
A person who is pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010.
Paper II (Upper Primary)
Graduation and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 – year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
OR
Graduation with at least 45% and 1 – year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE (recognition norms & procedure), regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Se.Ed
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
OR
A person who is pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010.
Relaxation up to 5 % in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled.

- A new webpage will be opened.
- Fill your all personal and educational details and upload necessary documents.
- Make payment of application fee as per your category and submit the form.
- At the end, take a print out of the application form
