State Level Eligibility Test Commission, Assam (NE Region) has announced the official notification regarding the State Eligibility Test, 2024. who are interested and Eligible candidates can apply online here. As per the official notification, SET 2024 will be conducted by the SLET (NE Region) Commission on 17th March 2024. The main objective behind this exam is to select eligible candidates to be appointed as Assistant Professors in the same league as the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Eligibility Criteria of SLET Exam
Age Limit:
There is no upper age limit for eligibility for applying for Assistant Professors. Candidates who qualify in the Test are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor within the jurisdiction of the Member-States of this SLET Commission. They will be issued a Pass certificate and the validity period of the certificate is forever.
Education Qualification:
# Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master Degree or equivalent examination from University/Institution recognized by UGC in case of General/Unreserved/General-EWS. However, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories, Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to the non-creamy layer who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Masters. Degree or equivalent examination passed.
# Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the final qualifying Master degree (final year) examination and result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examination have been delayed may also apply for this Test.

State Eligibility Test Details
The State Eligibility Test, 2024 will have two papers All the two papers will have only objective questions of the following forms
(a) Multiple Choice
(b) Matching
(c) Assertion and Reasoning
(d) True and False
Date and Time of SLET Exam
The State Eligibility Test (SET), 2024 will be conducted in two sessions on 17th March 2024 (Sunday) for both papers. Candidates have to attend both the sessions. Session details with timings are given below.

Paper – I will be on general subjects, intended to assess the teaching/research merit of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test the reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper – II will have 100 objective questions based on the topic. Each question will carry 2 marks. There will be no negative marking. Compensatory time for visually impaired candidates and PWD candidates with writing disability in Paper-I is 20 minutes. Accordingly, there is a provision of 20 minutes compensation time in Paper – II
